Plot Your Own Book
Ages 13+
Bring your story ideas to life in this interactive session! Students will learn how to create characters, build vivid settings, and map out a simple story structure. Then, they’ll jump into a hands-on challenge to outline their book and write an engaging opening. Participants will also have the opportunity to share their work and receive feedback, building confidence in their storytelling skills. Students will leave with a basic book outline and the beginning of their first chapter.

Beekeeping 101: Swarm Trapping Basics
Ages 15+
Want to keep your own bees? In this hands-on session, we’ll learn the fundamentals of building and successfully using swarm traps to collect local honeybee swarms. Local bees are stronger, better adapted to your environment, and completely free! You’ll learn how to construct effective swarm traps, how to bait them and how to place them. We’ll also cover what to do once you catch a swarm—including safe handling and hiving—so you can confidently start your own apiary with locally adapted bees. No prior beekeeping experience is required.

Learn the must-know basics every new cook needs: how to read a recipe, knife safety, sanitizing and clean hands, and how to measure ingredients precisely every time. We’ll put all your new skills to work as you measure out ingredients for your own cookies and assemble mini fruit tarts with fresh fruit you slice yourself!
You’ll leave with a few take-home treats, recipe cards, and the kitchen basics to start cooking safely and successfully at home!
