Acellus® Support Notices

February 29, 2008

In response to requests from many of our schools, we have made some changes to Acellus® IV that you will want to be aware of:

NEW FEATURES

  1. The Unit Exams just prior to the Mid Term and Final have been removed, so that the students do not have to take two exams in a row.
  2. If a student fails the Mid Term or Final exam, Acellus® will now automatically reposition the student back into the course to repeat any lessons that the student did not pass with 50% or better on the exam, and then to repeat the exam. This change improves Acellus' ability to help students who are not understanding the concepts covered by these exams.

As a result of these changes, you may experience the following difficulties:

Signs of Transition

  • If a student was on an exam, the program may appear to "freeze up".
  • If a student was on the last exam before the Final, or on the Final itself, he/she may be told he has finished the course.
  • If a student was on the last exam before the Mid Term, he/she may be moved forward into the Mid Term Review or the Mid Term Exam.
  • If a student was on a review or had finished a review but not started the exam that follows it, when they begin the exam they may find that they are on one exam higher than they expected.

SOLUTION

The solution for each of these problems is to reposition the student to the place he/she should be. This is done by going to the Teacher Login -> Student Performance -> Select a Class -> Reposition a Student.
