Acellus Student InterfaceAcellus provides video instruction and offers a comprehensive feedback system that responds to users’ interactions by modifying the curriculum to fit individual needs. It is this unique feature that makes Acellus a step above other computerized learning systems. Based on each student’s performance, Acellus creates an individualized experience, ensuring that every student understands every concept. During each student’s session, Acellus keeps a detailed record of all lesson activities.  Teachers can monitor students’ progress and determine grades based on student performance by using the powerful set of administrative tools provided by Acellus.

Lesson Format

National award-winning teachers pre- sent short video lectures on each topic. Several problems are given to the students to give them practice and demonstrate their understanding. The student enters answers in the Acellus Answer Entry Module. Additional tools such as Notes and Terms are also available to aid students. Additional lectures, presenting the same concept on a more basic level, are available for many of the lessons.

Sticky Problems

When the student incorrectly answers a question, Acellus will flag it as a “Sticky” Problem. In future lessons, before the student can move forward, any Sticky Problems from previous lectures will be given. This gives students extra practice and helps to reinforce newly gained knowledge.

Exams

At appropriate points throughout the course, Acellus presents students with examinations, these include Unit, Mid-Term, and Final Exams. In addition, some of the courses offer an optional Pre-Test to collect valuable baseline information from which to measure student progress. The tests are based on concepts from the lessons and assess student comprehension of the covered content. The assessments can be used as one of the criteria for determining student grades

Each exam, except the Pre-Test, is preceded by an optional review that gives students one more opportunity to gain understanding of the concepts before they are tested.
